About
We build for remote teams because we are one.
TechSync was founded in July 2021 by Ayesha Masood (then at Stripe Lahore) and Daniel Okafor (then at Linear, London). They had spent most of 2020 trying to run a cross-continent engineering process with three different tools glued together by Slack, and eventually decided it'd be easier to build the thing they wanted than to keep complaining about not having it.
The story so far
- 2021 · Founded. First commit on July 12, a Monday.
- 2022 · First paying customer: a 9-person design agency in Melbourne. Still customers, now 34 people.
- 2023 · Series Seed ($4.2M, Kleiner Perkins + Sarmayacar). Launched async standups.
- 2024 · Sync IDE plugin goes GA. 1,000th paying seat.
- 2025 · Opened London office. Hired VP Support Maya Iqbal.
- 2026 · 312 teams on paid plans. Priority Inbox and unified support agent (Sync) launch.
What we believe
- Meetings are debt, not assets. If a meeting is on your calendar every week, it should be justifiable every week.
- A process you can\'t see is a process you can\'t improve. That\'s why cycles default to mandatory rollover reasons.
- Good tools are boring. They disappear. You don\'t open this page to feel smart; you open it to ship.
- Support is engineering. Our support team has commit access. We\'ve never had a ticket that needed escalating outside of the support team in business hours.
