The problem

Sparrow Labs' velocity had become a political conversation. Engineering managers debated the same "what counts as done?" question every quarter, and the answer was always lost in a spreadsheet that nobody updated.

How TechSync fit in

Adopted TechSync cycles with mandatory rollover reasons and post-cycle slippage reports. Velocity is still a number, but now it's a number everybody sees the same way, and the rollover reasons make the "why" legible without anyone defending themselves.

Today

Sparrow Labs is a developer-tools company building a CI/CD platform. They joined in May 2023 at 31 people and are now at 62. They pilot-ran Priority Inbox for six weeks before it went GA — their feedback reshaped the triage categorisation model.

"The thing that changed was that velocity became a conversation, not a number someone argued about in a spreadsheet. TechSync's cycle reports make it visible."
Jordan Pike, Engineering Manager
